Woods moved into second place on the PGA Tour’s all-time wins list with his victory at his own tournament at Congressional, and riding that high he’s been pegged as the 7/2 favorite on the golf lines to make it two victories in a row this week.
This is only the third year for The Greenbrier Classic, and the first time Woods will be in the field for the event. Stuart Appleby won the inaugural tournament back in 2010, while Scott Stallings is the defending champion. Both of those golfers are pegged at 125/1 at Bovada to win the tournament this week.
That puts them well behind Woods and the other top contenders for the event, including the 16/1Webb Simpson who won the U.S. Open last month. Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson are both set at 20/1, followed by Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker at 22/1.
Brendon De Jonge and Keegan Bradley then start off the second tier of favorites at 35/1 on the PGA odds, followed by each of Bill Haas, Brandt Snedeker, Jeff Overton, Johnathan Byrd, K.J. Choi, and Seung-yul Nol at 40/1. Haas finished tied for second at The Greenbrier Classic last year, losing in a playoff to Stallings. Overton was one stroke back of Appleby in 2010.
Bettors who want to double up on their Tiger wagers for this week can also get him at 6/1 odds to be in the lead at the tournament at the end of the first round. Simpson sits at 20/1 on that prop bet, followed by Johnson and Mickelson at 22/1.
