Indiana dropped from No. 1 in the AP poll because of last Tuesday’s 77-73 loss at Minnesota. IU bounced back from that with a 73-60 home win over Iowa on Saturday. Cody Zeller had 22 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, leading the Hoosiers past Iowa to keep them atop the Big Ten standings. Indiana (25-4, 13-3) shot just 38.9 percent from the field and didn’t make a 3-pointer until the final minute. Freshman Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell finished with a season-high 19 points and five assists for Indiana. Victor Oladipo had 10 points, eight rebounds and four steals despite playing much of the second half in foul trouble. Indiana can claim its first outright championship since the 1992-93 campaign with a victory in this game. At 25-4, the Hoosiers are the sixth team in program history to win 25 or more games during the regular season, joining the 1974-75, 1975-76, 1988-89, 1990-91 and 1992-93 teams.
OSU last played Thursday, beating Northwestern 63-53 for its third straight win. Lenzelle Smith scored a season-high 24 points, and Deshaun Thomas added 19. OSU is in a four-way tie for second in the Big Ten as the Buckeyes look to secure a first-round bye in the conference tournament. Ohio State has held opponents to under 25 points in a half a total of 19 times this season. The Buckeyes limited Northwestern to 22 points in the first half.
