The kickoff in tonight’s Giants-Patriots contest is still hours away, but the New York Giants are already declaring victory and hawking T-shirts commemorating it.
In what appears to be a flub, caught by the New York Post, the team’s website yesterday briefly featured an ad touting the team’s victory in Super Bowl XLVI, and offering up official Super Bowl gear to fans. The ad was quickly taken down, but the Post has a screenshot (which you can see here).
The official NFL reaction: “It’s common practice for web pages to be created for both teams in advance. In this case, the hidden URL for the page was inadvertently available for a brief period of time while it was being positioned on the NFL server for possible post.”
Hopefully for all Giants fans this will not bring their team bad luck… But if you believe in that sort of stuff, you can always make a Super Bowl bet at our online sportsbook!
