Barring a stunning collapse, the Chicago Bulls are on their way to wrapping up the No. 1 seed and home-court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference. Holding a 3 1/2-game lead over Miami with only seven to play, the Bulls can work on ironing out any wrinkles as they prepare to visit one of their favorite opponents, the Detroit Pistons, on Sunday night. Chicago has beaten the Pistons 14 consecutive times, including three double-digit victories this season.

Chicago Bulls (45-14): Derrick Rose showed the effects of missing 13 of the previous 14 games, scoring a season-low two points on a horrid 1-for-13 shooting performance against Miami. Per usual, the Bulls still found a way to win, showing why they are 16-7 without their start point guard in the lineup. Backup C.J. Watson had 16 points and nine assists and Kyle Korver had another exceptional effort off the bench. Korver has scored a combined 31 points in his last two games, drilling 8 of 11 3-point attempts.
Detroit Pistons (22-37): Detroit was playing its best ball of the season, winning 17 of 30 games, until going into a tailspin in the past 10 days and losing four of five. The schedule is one reason for the struggles, with the losses coming on the road at Miami and fellow Eastern Conference contenders Atlanta and Orlando before a 16-point drubbing at home against Milwaukee on Friday. Rookie Brandon Knight had a team-high 25 points against the Bucks, giving him back-to-back 20-point outings for the first time.
1. Chicago has limited the Pistons to an average of 74 points in the three meetings this season.
2. Rose, who is listed as a game-time decision, is the fifth reigning MVP to miss at least 20 games the following season.
3. The Bulls have won their last six meetings in Detroit, last losing to the Pistons on Dec. 23, 2008.
