Power is currently listed at short 3/2 odds to post another victory this weekend in results on the streets of Long Beach, after taking the checkered flag two weeks ago at the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.
The Australian star, who finished second overall behind defending IndyCar Series champion Dario Franchitti in the final driver standings in 2011, won this marquee race back in 2008 and started in the pole position last year before colliding with Helio Castroneves late in the race and being forced to settle for a tenth-place result. Power was third at Long Beach in 2010 and 2007, and finished as the runner-up to Franchitti in 2009.
Franchitti and Scott Dixon are co-listed as the second choice behind Power to win on Sunday afternoon at 5/1 odds. In addition to his victory three years ago Franchitti was third last year behind surprise winner Ryan Briscoe, who is listed at 8/1 odds to repeat the feat.
Dixon, the third-place finisher in the 2011 driver standings, posted a career-best fourth-place finish at Long Beach in 2010; that race was won in dominating fashion by Ryan Hunter-Reay (15/1 odds) who set a new race record with an average speed of 93.62 miles per hour.
Castroneves, who won the first race this season at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, is also listed among the contenders at 13/2 odds.
