There are no playoff spots on the line in the final games of the Canadian Football League’s regular season this week, but there is playoff positioning at stake as teams take one final shot at the CFL odds at the Bodog Sportsbook before the postseason.

In the East the 5-12 Toronto Argonauts have been eliminated from playoff contention, and the 8-9 Hamilton Tiger-Cats are locked into third place in those division standings. The Argos will host the Tiger-Cats to kick off Week 19 of the season on Thursday night with little more than pride on the line for the rivals.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Montreal Alouettes then have identical 10-7 records at the top of the East standings, with the team that ends up in first place getting a bye through to the second round of the playoffs. The second-place team in the East will play host to Hamilton in the postseason’s first round next weekend. Winnipeg holds the tiebreaker.

Both the Bombers and the Alouettes play on the road on Saturday night this week as they try to run their win totals to 11; Winnipeg is at Calgary, while Montreal is in B.C.

The Stampeders and Lions also have 10-7 records heading into this week’s action, and the Edmonton Eskimos have that same mark as well. That means all three of those West teams have a shot at first place in the division, and conversely all three of those West teams could end up in third place and have to play on the road next week.

Edmonton might have the easiest path to 11 wins this week, as they get a visit from a Saskatchewan Roughriders team on Friday night that is out of the playoffs at 5-12 on the season. The Lions hold the tiebreaker over both Edmonton and Calgary, and the Eskimos hold the tiebreaker over the Stampeders.

The CFL’s division semifinals and division finals lead into the Grey Cup, which will be played in Vancouver this season on November 27. The Lions are the 9/5 favorite on the CFL futures to win the championship at home, with Montreal at 3/1, Winnipeg at 4/1, both Calgary and Edmonton at 5/1, and Hamilton the longshot on the list at 12/1.
