THE KNICKS (32-29): The Knicks took sole possession of seventh in the East with a 118-110 victory over Boston on Tuesday. Carmelo Anthony recorded his second career triple-double with 35 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. “‘Melo I think now is settling in. He’s playing like we all thought he could play,” said interim coach Mike Woodson after the win. “It’s beautiful to watch him play because he’s doing a lot of things on both sides of the floor. He’s making players around him better and it’s helping us win and that’s what the good players do.”
THE NETS (22-40): The Nets have four games remaining before they clean out their lockers and say goodbye to New Jersey. Point guard Deron Williams will miss Wednesday’s game because of a sore right calf, according to the team’s official injury report. Williams sat out Monday’s 101-98 loss to the Miami Heat with the same injury. The All-Star suffered the injury after a collision with Boston Celtics center Greg Stiemsma on Saturday. Williams is averaging 21 points and 8.7 assists in 55 games this season.
1. New York is 9-10 in the second half of back-to-backs.
